Humax freesat PVR vs Freesat reciever + DVR?
Hi,
I’ve recently moved into a new (different) apartment with a single satellite feed.
I was thinking of buying the Humax freesat recorder as a replacement for bbc iplayer, 4OD via broadband (as unlimited broadband in my area is so dear).
I was wondering would I be better buying the Humax PVR and dealing with the limitations of only having one satellite feed. Or buying a significantly cheaper Freesat receiver and Harddrive recorder to record shows when I’m out.
Is it even possible to tie a DVR into the EPG of a Freesat receiver to record shows or would I have to revert to the old VCR timer way of recording shows?
Advice would be greatly appreciated!
Ps. unfortunitely freeview isn't an option here in N.Ireland

I have the Humax Foxsat freesat HDR PVR with only one feed and it's great. It does depend on how close the two channels are to each other to be able to record two channels at the same time, the further apart they are the better chance you have. The box soon tells you if you can't record two at the same time or moves the programe to another part of the country ie if you want to record the same time on BBC1 and BBC2 in London and it conflicks, it will either move one of the programs to another time or to another part of the country, say the West country on a different channel number then it will record two at the same time. Hope all that make sense ha! ha! ????? The BBC iplayer is now on the (red button) on the Foxsat box as well but you will need broadband connection. Having the Foxsat is a lot easer than setting up a DVD recorder. Also I'm in the UK west country and can get N. Ireland or local stations from any part of the country with this box, it picks up 400 channels.
