"Splitting" Coaxial TV Cable?
If you "split" coaxial cable that runs to your TV and or Internet connection to send it to another source does the signal decrease?
What's the alternative?
Yes, a little less than half goes to each branch of the splitter. In decibel terms, there's about a 4 dB drop from splitting. If it's coming in over a cable TV coax, they usually have a pretty strong signal, so the loss shouldn't cause any problem.
