Why We Need An HDMI Cable In This Day And Age
In this day and age, an HDMI cable is a necessity. It means High Definition Multimedia Interface, and it uses digital signals to create progressive scans. What is that, however?
Analogue signals are varying amounts of current traveling up the wire. By alternating the amount of current many times a second, information can be relayed. Analogue, as opposed to digital, is truly high resolution. An analogue current, being a simple stream of electrons moving through a conductive surface such as copper, can be divided or narrowed down to nano-sized degrees. It stops being practical, however, because it would take finer and finer components to control the variations at such sizes.
It only takes a faster processing chip to create very fine digital signals though. If you were to zoom into it, it would be not seem so fine, but it can be fine enough for its needs very easily. A digital signal is a stream of data that can describe anything you put to your mind to programming.
Digital signals are made up of the famous "ones and zeros" that we all hear about so much. But what are they anyway? Well, a "one" tells a circuit on the receiving end to open, and a "zero" tells it to close. These opening and closing circuits cause new ones and zeros to be made, and off they go.
Interlaced scans are frames on the monitor or screen that are divided in half, every other row. Depending on which region of the world you live in, it can be anywhere from twenty-four to thirty frames each second. The first frame is every odd numbered row, and the second frame is only every even numbered row. Never once at any moment, is there a complete frame on the screen. It's so quick, however, the human brain doesn't pick up on it. This is very convenient, because only half the data needs to be sent.
Progressive scans are whole pictures at once, for each frame. The old CRT monitors, which means cathode ray tube, fired streams of electrons toward the back of the screen. It would be fired in the same pattern as the interlaced rows of lines, many times each second. HD screens can only receive information in one row at a time, for every frame.
An HDMI cable can send all this data, which can be created quickly without the need of finer components.

I want to split my coax 7 ways?
I have cable coming into the house, it is immediately connected to a 2 way splitter. One goes to the internet, the other goes to the 6 televisions (currently 4). After that initial internet split, I have 2 more 4-way splitters because I want to wire up the rooms for the 7 televisions. Will I need an amplifier to have signal strength throughout the house? Basically my setup will be:

Line out - Internet
Line out - 4way splitter
(1) 4 way splitter
Line out - TV
Line out - TV
Line out - TV
Line out - (2) 4-way splitter
(2) 4-way splitter

Would this be possible to set up without using an amplifier?
You need an RF Amplifier. 20dB should do it. Connect the amplifier where the cable feed comes in. Treat the Internet connection just like another TV:
Cable Feed>RF Amp>1 x 2-way splitter>2 x 4-way splitters>8 outputs to TVs and cable modem.
Terminate the one unused output with a 75 ohm terminating resistor.
A low-finesse Fabry–Pérot interferometer for use in displacement measurements with applications in absolute gravimetry (Springer Link)
Abstract
A low-finesse Fabry–Pérot interferometer is used to determine long and fast
displacements. Two corner cube reflectors form the traveling-wave cavity and
one beam splitter couples the input collimated laser beam. Given the retro-
directive property of corner cube reflectors, the cavity operates at the edge
of stability over an extended scanning range. The in-line scheme with a single
fixed optical component makes the proposed interferometer robust and easy to
align and use. These characteristics are particularly useful in applications
running in noisy environments, such as in on-field absolute gravimetry.
Experimental data showing the performances reached in a transportable
ballistic gravimeter are also presented.
